8 tracks produced by MINUTE
The compositions on these two disks were recorded in May 2013 at Studio Resther in Montreal and mixed in December 2013. They reflect the work of two musicians who complement each other rather than engage in a duel. With their extraordinary musical dialogues, accelerations, dynamic contrasts and unbridled energy, the two disks will simply take your breath away.
Their shows are like balls of fire, penetrating our souls and irradiating us with their astounding high-voltage sound. For all those interested in the galvanizing power of musicians who give all they have, this is absolute must listening!
Martin Tétreault is a prolific composer with whom Les Productions MINUTE has collaborated on numerous occasions, including solo shows, concerts featuring drummers, two albums and an exhibition. A self-taught turntablist and sound designer, this Montreal musician is known internationally for his improvisational work not only with turntables, but with found objects and fabricated items. He performs solo and in collaboration, working in music, dance, poetry, installation and performance art. He has appeared at numerous festivals devoted to performance, sound and media art in Canada, Oceania, Europe and Asia. His compositions have been released on various labels, including Ambiances magnétiques, Audioview, Oral and Vand’œuvre. Martin Tétreault is also a respected visual artist: his most recent installation, Phonographes vinylisés, was presented at the Manif d’art in Quebec City in May 2012.
Michel Langevin is a founding member of the legendary Canadian band VOIVOD. He plays drums, percussion and electronic instruments. Not only does he possess an innate sense of rhythm, but he reads and performs scores with prodigious skill. Since 2008, after a few years of silence, VOIVOD has enjoyed a rebirth, performing on both the national and international stages. At the same time, Langevin has shown great curiosity regarding any innovative project that can help develop his art. He is also a renowned graphic artist. He designed all of VOIVOD’s album covers, and is credited with the creation of the mythology of the post-apocalyptic vampire Lord Voivod, around which the band originally coalesced.

||Rencontre au sommet entre Marc-Alexandre Reinhardt (baterie, Hyena Hive) et Steve Bates (guitares et électroniques).
Great meeting in between Marc-alexandre Reinhardt (drums, Hyena Hive) and Steve Bates (guitars and electronics).
Reviews of the Lanterner self-titled debut:
Frans deWaard/Vital Weekly:
Refinement is not their keyword. Sometimes the drums bang out, like a rock group, but on other occasions its more spacious, improvised noise of 'a not so noise kind'. Oral makes a reference to This Heat, which at first I thought was odd, but perhaps it does make sense, come to think of it. Not because of the singing, as there is none here, but in moving from rock to improvisation, from noise to the sheer love of experimentation with sound. This Heat indeed, or perhaps also a bit like Dome. But all of which in a some what more lo-fi manner here and all a tad bit more noise based. Quite a fine discovery. (Frans de Waard)
HOUR (Johnson Cummings)
This local duo completely surprises with a weaving of rock/drone/psych/doom served up in epic proportions. Keep yer eyes peeled for these guys.
These songs Throb and Drift with a Lean Tension and pulsing, dreamt, attempt at escape(s), duly watched over by the still anxious ghosts of minutemen and This Heat... Spontaneous and driven, improvised and savored over.
